When I first read the final speech of the Nehene, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. How could you say that G-d has no control and that there is nothing after we die. After looking the Perek over, I realized that the Nehene had made some pretty good points. How could one argue with them, If there is no proof, that his points are wrong. We don't know what happens after death.
The Nehene says that all we can do is enjoy, becase bad things are gonna happen no matter what we do. Is this true? There has to be something that can either replace pointless enjoying or bad things.
I think the Neheneh is right in the fact that we should enjoy, but I think he's just so concerned with everything he doesn't have, that he doesn't realize what G-d has given him. By not acknowledging this, he comes to some pretty rash conclusions. I think he had more of a point in Perek Bet, but I think both of his speeches DO NOT answer the meaning of life.
ReplyDeleteI agree. It is actually really sad how he is so blinded on what he is lacking that he does not really enjoy to the most he can. In life people are like that too. It is so awful how people never enjoy because they are always caught up on what they are missing but really this cause them to miss out. It is also really scary how we do not know what happens after death so that means we should just enjoy. In Judaism we have to believe in the world to come and that belief is something that the Nehene lacks and really should work on because it would clear so much up.
