I think this ties into Kohelet perfectly. Like we saw with the Chacham, before he was so caught up with trying to strive for perfection his philosophy really made sense. His philosophy seemed like it had the most hope and that it was the most logical. When all the others got him so obsessed with trying to strive for perfection (like them), his philosophy became illogical and ridiculous. When we aren't trying to strive for perfection we're all 'good' in our own way - but when we're so cuahgt up in trying to be perfect, we fall.
