Eicha is the megilla that is written after the Beit Hamikdash is destroyed. It tells the story of the land and the destruction that was done. In Perek Alef, the land starts by saying her side. The land feels alone, abandoned, and disheveled. The Narrator then tells us that it was destroyed because of the actions she did. Hashem was punishing her for her sins. The land doesn't see how her punishment is her fault. She sees what she wants to see, which is herself as a victim.
