The Little Things We Accomplish

This week in class we covered a lot about Shlomo's struggle of trying to understand life. The most important thing Shlomo wanted was the ability to understand life. In section one, Shlomo explains that his desire to understand that world was bad because he would never be able to understand everything, so therefore he should know nothing.
In section two, we discussed Shlomo's different ways to find happiness and meaning in the world. Shlomo tries the character of a parties, worker, and a wise man.
         1. He explains that there is no point of the work a man does because after they are done, what will happen with it and who will inherit it? Also, man creates everything and everything man creates is not perfect, so technically, everything in the world is broken.
        2.  In the character of a partyer, Shlomo realizes it may be fun in the moment, but the next day, what is left from it?
        3. Lastly, Shlomo talks about how the wise way is bad because the more someone knows, the more they will suffer. And since man can never understand everything, because they are wise but not as wide as g-d, they will just be in pain.
In the last section we learned, we discussed that because Shlomo had so much wealth, wisdom, and power, he had the authority to talk about how it was all bad, due to his own experiences. Shlomo just wanted to  find the point of his life because as he looked back as an old man, he thinks that he really did nothing with his life.
The fact that Shlomo says that his life is worthless and that he accomplished nothing makes me so sad. Obviously Shlomo accomplishes so much.In the world today, it seems that many people struggle with this. Everyone is trying to figure out what the point in their life is. The point of life is to figure out what the point of life is. Although this may sound weird, what would be the point of living if everyone knew why they were? What we need to do is be the best version of ourselves doing the best we can. Also, many people also think that either in their lifetime or in a day, the did not fulfill anything. People do not realize that the slightest things make a difference. I know this sounds so cliche but seriously, picking up someones pencil or smiling at somebody could really make so much of a difference. Although this may not make you feel like you fulfilled something, it really should, because small things make the biggest difference. So, the next time you think you serve no purpose, pick up someones pencil or let someone borrow a sweater. Do not forget to realize that the little things do matter.
