Another rationale as to why everything is הבל is the fact that we all have the same fate, death. Death means all of our pain and sleepless nights didn't make a lasting impression. There will be no remembrance of the wise man. We don't know if a fool will inherit all of our hard work, so what is the point! No enjoyment in life because of our constant hard working only ending in death. This is so depressing. I need a hug.

I would have disagree with both of the Amal's points. We may not have the ability to create perfection, but this doesn't mean we shouldn't try. We do the best that we can, and the best is often good enough. Secondly, the idea that we shouldn't strive to do well in this life because we won't be remembered anyway is ridiculous. The whole point of our existence is not to try and find a way for your descendants to remember you after you die. You should live life the best you can. Don't worry about who's going to remember you after you die.
